Skenes Creek Lodge Motel & Licensed Restaurant is situated on eight acres of open land on a quiet stretch of the Great Ocean Road, with pristine views of the Southern Ocean and the Otway Ranges. As our Apollo Bay accommodation is only a six minute drive from the town centre, why not use it as a hub to visit all the natural wonders of the Otway Coast, and all the tourism highlights of the Surf Coast.

Our motel contains twenty five three-star rooms - fifteen of those provide absolute white-water ocean views, whilst ten provide magnificent views of the majestic Otway Ranges. For families or small groups, our Apollo Bay accommodation has four family rooms and a two bedroom apartment, plus plenty of space for children to play outside on the lawn. All of our motel rooms are situated on the ground floor, making them suitable for people who require easy wheelchair access.

Apollo Bay (often referred to as "paradise by the sea") is a small seaside town with a big personality, and a thousand interesting things to do. It is one of Victoria's most popular tourism hotspots - particularly during the summer months, as visitors travel down to the Great Ocean Road to escape the summer heat.

The town centre (not far from Skenes Creek Lodge Motel & Licensed Restaurant) contains various shops and services of all types - such as bakeries, banks, bookshops, beauticians, day spas and massage therapists, hairdressers, community markets and supermarkets, newsagencies, pharmacies, sports and surf stores - plus a local cinema that plays all the latest release movies, historical museums that educate and exhibit items from our abundant local history, and a public swimming pool to help you cool off on warm days. Apollo Bay is home to the Great Ocean Road Visitor Information Centre, where you can always find assistance to organise local activities and guided tours, or to purchase souvenirs and gifts for friends and family.

ABOUT OUR MOTEL'S WEATHER - SKENES CREEK, APOLLO BAY, MELBOURNE, VICTORIA

Whilst Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay are warmer in the summer months of December to February, the average daily temperatures are considerably lower than central Melbourne (often by several degrees), making our Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay accommodation a perfect destination to cool off in the summer heat, as we experience refreshing sea breezes from the Southern Ocean and Bass Strait.

During the autumn months of March to May, the weather is generally still nice (although milder temperatures) as we occasionally have warm weekends. The surfing conditions are usually at their peak in April (especially if low pressure systems are offshore), and ocean water temperatures are considered to be at their warmest, having increased by several degrees since the start of summer.

The winter months of June to August can sometimes bring a decent amount of rainfall to Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay, but this shouldn't be seen as a deterrent to visit, as the average daily temperatures are consistently higher than central Melbourne, making Skenes Creek Lodge Motel & Licensed Restaurant a great place to warm up in the winter chill.

The spring months of September to November are perhaps the most ideal times to stay at Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay, as we experience beautiful sunny days with clear blue skies and mild sea breezes - also before the peak tourist season occurs over the summer holidays.
